How One Woman Wants to Change the Stigma Around Mental Health
When our J&J content labs reached out to me to ask me if they could write an employee spotlight article on me, I had no real idea what that would mean. Of course, I was grateful that my little book was being picked up by JnJ.com. However, little did I know the reach that this article could have far beyond my JnJ peers. In my six years with the company, I have read many JnJ.com articles on Linked In. They were often about amazing employees making a significant impact across the globe. How could my story begin to compare to those other stories?
When the article was released on World Bipolar Day (Thursday, March 30th) I really had stop and pinch myself. It wasn’t about my face being on the top of the article or even about me. Instead, I found myself really connected to the incredible reach that my fundamental message about mental illness could now begin to have.
I feel so blessed that JnJ.com felt my story worthy enough to share. I have always said that I am not an author. I am just a girl on a mission to tell her story in a way that could humanize mental illness. I just never imagined the growing impact it could have. I am so excited to be on the path to fulfill my life’s purpose in making a massive difference in changing how we all relate to mental illness.
